I have a DIR-628 setup as an AP and a DAP-1522 setup as the bridge, using 5 Ghz radio, 40 Mhz channels, 802.11n-only and WPA2.  Everything works reliably but it's also noticeably slow for LAN connections.  So I started experimenting with the DIR-628 settings.  I tried forcing the connection-rate but it didn't have any effect on my tested speed (consistently 20 Mbps for file transfers).  Then I discovered the Status > Wireless sub-page and it's connection-rate information.  It says my link is 802.11a ?  I tried flipping the configuration from 'n' to 'a' (in case the labels were reversed) but the status page still reports 'a'.

Surely there's a bug here, even if it's only cosmetic?

Or, maybe it really is using 'just' 802.11a which would explain the slow bitrate.

P.S.  My DIR-628 has firmware 1.13 and the DAP-1522 was originally using firmware 1.10 > now 1.20.

UPDATE
I now have a laptop with a dual-band wi-fi N card, and the DIR-628 says the same thing with it.  The laptop, unfortunately, doesn't seem to have a status that includes the wi-fi mode -- just the signal strength and link speed.

One curious thing I saw: when I first connect from the laptop, and while monitoring the DIR-628's Wireless Status from my desktop, the new link is momentarily shown as "N" but then immediately updates to show "A".  So it seems like the DIR-628 is 'prefering' A-mode, even when it's configured for "N only".
