dir-655 1.32 firm port settings erased after reboot
« on: October 11, 2009, 07:34:05 PM »

d-link dir-655
Firmware Version: 1.32NA
Hardware Version: A3

this problem just started.  My router has been up and running for the past 2 months now without a problem.  Randomly, all the settings were cleared from the router.  Now i can set all the settings that i want, but any settings that I do to port forwarding or port server, the router will loose just those settings after a reboot

so far what i have done
so i have reset the router to default settings.
So all the wireless security, lan settings, and passwords have been set and remain even after manual reboots and reboots after saving and being prompted by the router.  How i have chosen to open port 3389 for remote desktop.  the interface is now saying that i have to reboot the router to save the settings.  i have the option to reboot now or reboot later.  i choose the reboot now button.  the router is processing the reboot and have to wait 15 seconds.  the router has come back online and i re-log into the web interface and none of the settings have been saved.

i have tried it multiple ways, with having the enabled checked on the box on the left and disabled.

anything i can do?

thanks ahead of time

Make sure you leave SecureSpot enabled. Should save fine.

Mine has SecureSpot disabled and these settings stick just fine. I think either the nvram is corrupted that a reset to factory defaults would fix or a bad flash that a reset to factory defaults then reflash (using wired) and then manually set it up again would fix.

I left the Secure spot enabled and the settings are staying on for now.

i did not setup secure spot via the link provided in the interface.  so theoretically it is disabled.   is there any advantage of setting up securespot.   it is not free from what i have seen.

thanks for all your guys help!
