Connecting DAP-1522 to another DAP-1522

I have a DAP-1522 in one room (set as a bridge to a router in another room) and wish to connect to the 1522 with another 1522.  I have tried setting the second as both AP and bridge.  In the second case, they connect but I cannot ping the first 1522.

Is such extended bridging possible with the 1522?

No, this is not possible.
If the first DAP is connected to a router, it is in client mode.
You can not connect a second client to a client.

What you are looking for is WDS capability.
With WDS wireless devices can connect in bridge mode.
It is a kind of client and access point at the same time.

Thank you.  What D-Link products would do this (with two or more client DAP-1522 in either bridge or AP mode)?

Page 12 of the manual clearly shows this as being a possible configuration, wirelessly connecting a DAP1522 to another DAP1522 which is wired to a router.

If the first DAP is connected to the router by wire, you can run it as access point and connect a second DAP in client (bridge) mode to the first.

But read the first post. The first DAP is connected wirelessly to the router, so it is cannected as client bridge. In this setup you can't connect another client bridge to it.

But it should be possible to connect the second DAP also to the router if it is in range.

A little more costly but the DAP-2553 will allow you to do as you wanted.  Its under the small biz networking section.
