Running WindowsXP Pro on two machines. 

When I try to connect my ScanJet 8250 via the 655's USB port, all I get is:

No USB device is detected.
Please plug in one of the below USB devices.
(Printer, MFP, Scanner, Storage Devices)

If anyone can suggest any troubleshooting steps I'd be appreciative.  Have tried rebooting router, have tried with Windows Firewall and Norton NIS 2010 off, with no effect. 

Already wasted a bunch of time on this--it was one of my weekend projects.  If it's just an exercise in futility, please let me know that too so I can stop tormenting myself!

Update: when I try attaching a small USB thumbdrive to the port, I get the same message.

USB port just doesn't work, or what?

Would love to troubleshoot.

You are using the wrong SharePort version, you should be using 1.10 not 1.15 with FW v1.32na.
