DIR-825 RevA been frustrating with constant lockups, the previous DIR-655 was terrific.  Redone firmware, factory resets, redone configs.  Read through all the Forum details for ideas, suggestions.
After my last series of tweaks on 1.12NA, been stable for an unprecedented 4x weeks!   6x computers, 2x Dlink 1Gb Switches, Blu-Ray, Wii, Vonage VoIP, Slingbox, Blackberry UMA ie.19x defined DHCP reservations, with QOS Enabled priorities. Things I felt made a difference in playing with many options since July'09.
- Disabled; "Enabled Advanced DNS Service"
- Disabled; "Enable DNS Relay"
- Disabled; "Always Broadcast" on DHCP Server Settings
- Wireless 2.4GHz Band. "only enabled 802.11b/g"
- Wireless 5GHz Band. "enabled 802.11a/n", Auto 20/40
- Changed Connection Type from Auto to "Cable"
- Disabled "Enable Multicast Streams"

30x years in computers/networks, was determined "to make this dog hunt". Hope this may help even a few people, amongst the many of frustrated users who have written Forum details.

All I did was switch off the advanced DNS, and I have the latest firmware. Took care of all the problems, except guest accounts. It's rock solid now.

My D-Link DIR-825 Rev A1 firmware 1.12NA still hangs every few days even with "advanced DNS" disabled.
D-Link customer support admitted to me on the phone that they could not fix it.  I bought a Linksys.

those config changes didn't help for me either. i disabled 802.11n on both 2.5ghz and 5ghz band, and that seems to significantly reduce the hickups.

Stopped by on the hope that Dlink has updated the firmware beyond 1.12 (hope springs eternal...).  Thought I'd add my 2 cents.

Absence of wireless N on the 2.4 gHz band is a non-starter for me.  Range on 5 gHz is too short, so without 2.4 gHz N I might as well have stayed with the old Netgear router that the ''825 replaced.

By the way, the $50 Trendnet 639GR that I got to replace the buggy '825 is still on its original boot after about a month of operation.  Still smooth as silk.

I don't understand... I'm using my DIR-825 on 2.4 Ghz Wireless N.  Also using N on the 5 Ghz band.  Both seem rock solid.  I'm on the original firmware version, 1.01.  It works fine for me.

If you want to experience the pain everyone is talking about update the firmware; your router will never work the same again.

Mine worked for 59 days straight with disabling DNS Relay.

Then it finally locked up, and since then, with a fresh setup of the Router with disabled DNS Relay, it starts to lock up every 3-4 days.  Sometimes I have to do multiple things to get Internet back, instead of just power cycling it.

However during these lock ups, I can still log in to the Router.  When it used to lock up before the 59 day streak, I couldn’t.  I know its not a modem issue, because I can directly connect and it works.

Im still trying to fix this, any ideas?
