dynamic dns logins
« on: December 22, 2009, 02:34:02 AM »

dyndns updates are not working at all for some reason, version a1/1.10na. I have a webhop address/port configured on the site, dyndns.com and login password configured on the router, address goes to my httpd no problem. but 1 month later I am getting expiry notifications, at first I figured it was just a reminder and the router would log in on its own during this grace period, but it did not and my domain name was deleted.

what's going on here, I don't know what to make of this firmware. when you select the default dyndns address from the drop down list on the dynamic dns page, and add your domain/login, check enable and save settings, all it does is say 'connecting' then unchecks enable and grays out the fields. I just assumed it would connect on its own every 24 days, which seems like a reasonable default setting. we get absolutely no feedback whether or not the update was successful, the status just goes from 'connecting' to 'disconnect'. there should be a standard return code from the dns service so we can at least see what is going on. am I missing something?

I also see a 1.12na firmware update, but there are no dynamic dns updates in the changelog. I don't want to use it unless something goes wrong, since my router is otherwise rock solid right now, and I see nothing but bad news about it.
