problem with dfl-260
« on: December 17, 2009, 07:02:18 AM »

Hi,

I recently set up a 260 that has 3 vlan configured and all the web, AV, and IPS config the problem i see is that after couple of days it is blocking all the browsing for some computers and some times for the hole network the strange thing is if i disable the IPS and enable it again with the same config the problem happens again.

is the any thing i can do.

another thing that i have seen is that two des-1228 block them selves completely and i have to power cycle to get them to work again and they work for some time and the they start to block ports again.

the ver of the firewall is 2.26 and the switch are in the 1.0.12 the latterst ver.

thanx in advance.

It sounds like you have some fairly wide reaching networking issues.  I would call in to BCS support and then have them solve your switch issues before your firewall even gets brought up.

I have seen problems when many rules of ids and web filtering are applied, maybe trying whit different config enabling and disabling some rules may help you to iddentify some sort of conflict making firewall work far from the normal.

check if things start to fail when you added some rule maybe in that way its the source.
