Sync time remaining? - problems after firmware upgrade
« on: January 22, 2010, 12:42:10 AM »

Hi ...

I upgraded to firmware 1.03 and now I can only access the D-Link NAS via the webinterface. FTP and SMB access is not possible.

After the upgrade, I logged in to the webinterface, and was told that I could also upgrade my OLED firmware. Since I was told that this was recommended, I followed the instructions. When the OLED firmware upgrade was complete, it said that I should take the power plug out for five seconds and put it back in. When the system booted up again, I logged in to the webinterface and now status is:

Hard Drive Info >>>>
Volume Name:     Volume_1
Volume Type:    RAID 1
Sync Time Remaining:    485.1 minute(s)
Total Hard Drive Capacity:    1474368 MB
Used Space:     267564 MB
Unused Space:    1206803 MB

If I click "Hard drive info" in the left menu, it says that the hard drive in slot 2 is "normal" but the harddrive in slot 1 is "abnormal".

The sync time remaining, has been between 450 and 500 minutes for a couple of days now.

What is wrong and how can it be fixed?

Hope someone can help me....

Best regards

A quick update....

I found out that you have to manually install applications after firmware upgrade (I am using the ADS extension). Hence no users were given access to SMB or FTP. So it's actually working now.

I still have a broken disk though? - what should be done about that?
