DIR-825 A1 Is a Brick Please Sound Off
« on: January 07, 2010, 09:10:52 PM »

If you are here because your expensive router began disconnecting your internet connections and
You’ve traced the problem to your router and
Your hardware revision is A1 and
You’ve upgraded the firmware:

Your router is a brick requiring a hard reboot every two days.

The work around is to disable the machine’s DNS server requiring you to enable an external DNS server, which is basically disabling the primary function of a router.

After you have resolved that your only choice is to buy another network appliance from a reliable source, you can send your opinion, or your brick, to:
A. P. Chen and
Tracy Wang
4F, No. 289, Sinhu 3rd Rd

Tel 886-2-6600 0123
Fax 886-2-6600 1188
Web/E-Mail http://www.dlinktw.com.tw

This is way more than I should have to know for my $150 purchase.

Thank you, for your forum.

I have an A1 and I am resetting it every day.  The problem seemed to get worse after the update to version 1.12NA.

I have yet to contact support .. but now, at wits end, I will journey down that path.
