connecting printer

Have an HP CP1518ni LaserJet printer connected via USB to a Windows Vista computer.
Set up the DIR-825 router and connected a Windows 7 home premium 64-bit laptop to the
network. Wireless internet to the laptop works fine, but when I try to add the HP Laser Jet
printer to the windows 7 laptop, it can't find a driver. But I downloaded the HP universal
driver and it doesn't see it.
Don't know how to proceed.
Any suggestions?

Did you turn on file and printer sharing on the Vista computer?  You have to share it before another computer can use it.

Yes the printer is shared. Does my problem have anyrhing to do with Windows 7 being 64-bit
and Vista being 32-bit?

that shouldn't make any difference. Just make sure you get the 64 bit drivers for your Win 7 machine.

I have an HP printer on my hardwired desktop that my wireless Win 7 notebook can't use because there are no Win 7 drivers. Thanks HP.
