Email Alert - second email address automatically setup
« on: December 31, 2009, 10:09:06 AM »

I installed 1.08 Firmware months ago and have just upgraded to the latest build.  Works great, but I noticed that when I setup my email alert with a specific address for some unexplained reason another email address was also created automatically - "323_E-Mail_Alert@[mydomain].com"

Is this supposed to happen?  Is there a way to change it?

I can set up the 323_E-Mail account on my email server, but was wondering why this account is created.  It leads to the following error message -  "Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender".  My other email address which I configured on the 323 works fine.

Had same problem on 1.07 Firmware. except it's trying to send an e-mail to "NAS_E-Mail_Alert@D-Link[mydomain].com"

Upgraded to 1.08, same problem.

Played with some of the settings.  It appears to be pulling from the Sender E-mail settings, as NAS_E-Mail_Alert stays the same, but follows whatever domain name I enter.

More of an annoyance than anything else, but it's comforting to know I'm not alone!

Never seen this, consider resetting to factory defaults and reconfiguring.  My email configuration worked just like you'd expect.

Resetting was easier than I thought, and it took care of this (and another) problem.

Won't be so hesitant the next time.

Thanks!
