Sesca did reply to my PM to say he'd read this post and get back to me, but that was days ago and nothing since.

About to give up on this.

Actually, I have decided to return it.

Thanks for your help with this, even tho it didn't pan out.

I am going to be very hesitant before I buy another dlink unit. I tried really hard to get useful input from someone there and absolutely nothing was there.

Sorry that it didn't work out. Hope you find something that does. Wish I could have helped you get it going. Have a great week.

You were great...thanks for trying.

I bought an ASUS RT-N16 and it's great...fast, LAN works as expected, really good interface to the router config stuff.

I am sure that the DGL-4500 is approx as good as the RT-N16, but obviously DLink is having issues with firmware. Almost for sure that's what my issue was. And support from dlink obviously could have been a lot better.

Thanks man. Sure would like to know why the LAN side is blocking ports though. Did you write Sesca and give him your info? I would so they know what to look for. Hope you have better luck with the ASUS. Have a great weekend.

Yes, and he said he'd read these threads and see what might be at issue. But, never heard from him after that.
