cant see router
« on: December 24, 2009, 11:35:37 PM »

I'm attempting to replace my old linksys b router with this d-link n router
So Ive tried setting up this router on two pc's now. neither of them can see the router from the ehternet connection (failing on step 5/7 for installing the router).
upon plugging in the router the power and outgoing ethernet icons flash.
i've tried using the web browser based installation but my browser (ive tried IE, Firefox, and Google Chrome) will not pull up the 192.168.0.1 page.
I've also tried resetting the router multiple times.

Any ideas?

connecting to it wireless or wired?

to connect wired set your adapters IP address to 192.168.0.101 and apply the changes then you can see it.

Wirelessly it should show up as Dlink

It could be blocked by some type of Internet security or firewall software.

Also, you need to do the set up via an Ethernet cable first as the wireless radio might be disabled before the set up is completed.
