Shoey,

It looks like you're the official forum beta tester for 1.13.  Many of us (once burned, twice shy) will be reluctant to install new firmware until it's thoroughly checked out by brave souls like you.

In addition to checking to see if the new firmware works with DNS turned back on you might want to check some of the other items listed since v 1.11 including whether CAPTCHA can be turned off, whether Shareport now works etc.

Thanks for the heads up and for playing the part of the canary in the mineshaft for the rest of us.

Cheers ;)

Posting has some pretty ominous warnings.  Would be interesting if the firmware is designed to totally brick 825's while giving Dlink deniability.  A cheap way to put us out of our misery and maybe finally end the thread about the ultimate fix being replacement ;-}.

Love to upgrade from 1.01 but not until there is some testing.

Love how Dlink makes to include the liability release Agreement but they don't bother to include a changelog.  Who in their right mind is going to try it without any indication as to what was fixed?  Maybe Dlink doesn't even know... :(

was really hoping for some stability, once again failure to achieve such with these worthless updates, in fact router has crashed 3 times in 4 hours. shareport is another important feature that still is broken. come on...

It's been a few days and no lockups. Before I installed the update, I flushed out the nvram and loaded my settings from scratch. I'm leaving for San Francisco until Feb 10th and I'm just gonna let it my router run with a bunch of random Torrents hammering my Comcast connection. I'll check my uptime when I get back.

I'll also set my Opera browser to automatically reload a bunch of websites while I'm gone.

Oh man, this is only for Hardware A. Those of us with hardware B1 are still screwed.

Correct, but I believe there was an update for the B1 between V1.12 and 1.13 for the A model.  The big upside for B model owners is you have outside code writers working for you so you don't have to depend on D-Link.

Cheers  ;)

Are you using both bands?  I want to see if anyone else is having a problem with using both at once.  Thanks.

I own the Dir-825, hardware version A. When I got the item with firmware 1.01, connections dropped tremendously. I upgraded to firmware 1.11NA so as to solve the problem but this made it even worse. Connections dropped even more and other persons were complaining since they also shared the internet connection via the router. I always had to keep on physically powering off the router and plugging it back on. It got so bad that I installed an electrical switch on the plug that connected the router to an electrical outlet. So instead of pulling out the router's charger and then plugging it back on so as to reboot the router, I could now switch off the power supply.

However it has been a week and a half thus far and I have not had to reset the router. This is of course a world record for me since I had to reset this router every 2 days or so. I'm not sure if it's a fluke or what but I'll tell you what I did. I first saved the router settings to my hard drive. Then I upgraded the router's firmware to version 1.12NA. Then I upgraded to firmware version to 1.13NA right after.I then reloaded the router's settings that I saved on my hard drive. In the advanced tab of the router's webpage I went into the Qos settings. I unticked "Automatic Upload Speed" and I set the manual uplink speed to 360 kbps. My acutal uplink speed is 256 kbps but I just set the uplink a little higher to see what would be the effect. Thus far there has been no ill effect of doing such. In the end the router has not dropped connections or stopped being accessible via it's webpage.

However I don't know if things will go worse in the third week or so. I'll see and hopefully post an update.
