Dir 825 SharePort issues
« on: January 30, 2010, 06:01:00 AM »

Hi all! I'm a new member and I've a DIR-825. I've installed  the sharePort software (lastest update) and I connected a Epson Sx405 printer. Everything works but when I reset pc and I reconnect shareport it need to reinstall printer drivers.
Do I have to reinstall everything every time?
thanks  :)

well, there's a setting in configuration to connect only when a print command is issued, or something like that, and you have to setup and verify the driver for that.  There will be a green check mark there.  You can uncheck this whole feature, which means you either connect to it all the time, or manually connect when you want to print.  I think those two options don't require you to have specific drivers, the vista defaults will do.

OR, may you just have the same problem the rest of do; you can see your device for a few hours or a day, but then it disappears and you have to close down shareport, reboot the router, then restart shareport.

My problem is this one:

I have 2 computer, 1 desktop with win7 64 bits and 1 laptop with the same system operative.
First i start to install the shareport 1.15 in the desktop, then i install the printer driver (HP deskjet F370).
After that i try to print some files, the result was great. I was capable of print various types of files after connect and disconnect the printer many times.

The second step was to make the same process but in the laptop. I make the same thing ( install the share port and the drivers) is went all fine. i could print many files too and connect / disconnect the printer.

The final step was to print files but in both computers( 1º- Connect the printer from the DESKTOP and print 2º- Disconnect the printer     3connect the printer from the LAPTOP and print     4º-Equal to 1º)

This final step give me many problems because i couldn't t print anymore from the DESKTOP because when i make the connection and make the print order the computer give me a bluescreen ( IRQL_NOT_EQUAL bla bla bla) and restart the PC.

In this moment i can ONLY print from the LAPTOP....even if i try to print only from the DESKTOP it gave me the same error.

Can anyone help me? I am starting go get nervous about this....

I must say that both win7 were installed 2 days ago....they are clean install.

My router is a DIR-825 from Portugal (EUROPE)
