Does the S.M.A.R.T test run?
« on: February 13, 2010, 11:10:22 AM »

Has anyone, with success, created a schedule with the S.M.A.R.T test and had any results emailed after the test completed on FW/Ver 1.03?

I have ran the test manually and gotten the results but I set it for once a month and that was 3 months ago and nothing so far.

Thanks!

I've never tried the schedule, I just set one up for a couple of minutes from now, we'll see if it runs. :D

The answer is no, it didn't run. :)

I sometimes hope that it's user error on my part but it rarely is.
Glad to that someone else is having the problem, not that it's a problem - yet.

Well, I could have screwed it up, but the configuration is pretty simple.  I set it 10 minutes in the future, and waited until about 10 minutes past the trigger time.

the ui on this 'feature' is funny too, theoretically we should be able to schedule multiple tests ala what we can do under linux, but I can only get one to 'stick', but it doesn't work anyway. Maybe in another couple years they will come out with another firmware.

I was wondering if I had to restart the NAS to make the schedule work.  Since I don't intend to have it run automatically, that's an exercise someone else can try. :D

I tried the restart and that did not help.
I'll keep my eye on the site for the updated FW ver. I hope soon.
Thanks for the feedback.

I suspected as much, that must be one of the broken features. :)
