Here is the link to the latest firmware released on 2/8/2010 which fixes a security hole in HNAP and the DNS Relay slow down issue:

ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dir855/Firmware/dir855_fw_122NA.zip

Regards,
Magnetron1

Thanks, had some serious slowdown issues over the last few days, lets hope this fixes it.

I don't get it?? That version is the same as 122b04na, its the same date (01/21/2010) not 02/08/2010, look at the file date, and when you upgrade its still 01/21/2010

Thats because it is the same code as the beta. That statement was made on the forum where you could download the beta from.

After 26 days my router rebooted by itself. This is by far the most stable version for mes, so far.

Had another random reboot after 2 days, Im not sure why some are ok until 26 days are some are 2 days.  I guess it could boil down to settings and even ISP's at this point, but still; thats 24 more days.

I have some simple questions for you - is gamerfuel on? is wish on?, exactly how is your wireless setup? what settings are not default? and finally, is DNS relay on or off?

I ask this because these are normally the problem areas, untleast from what I've seen.

Just some thoughts, Why is it taking so long to work out what is causing the stability issues on the 4500 and 855?  I own both routers, and none have ever gone longer that 30 days without a reboot, and were still trying to work out what the issues are.  Is it that the only feedback we can give is something like it doesn't work or it does?  How can we improve the feedback that we give to D-link?  Because this issue has truely plagued D-link routers and its seems that nothing can fix the issue.

I am having the exact same problems.  The DNS settings drop out in as little as 4 hours especially if I am streaming a video.  I have called Tech support and was told to reinstall the update but that did not make any differrence at all.

This version definitely fixed problems with the wireless connection but this issue is much worse.  I would appeciate any help on this issue.  Can I go back to an earlier version if there is no fix?

Yeah, streaming video is an issue with this firmware, I can measure 15mb download on a speed test and streams from multipal sites can't stream cleanly.  This has been happening for some time however, and Im in a position where I don't know if its the router or the ISP.  However after looking at some speed tests it does appear to be the router, I don't know what is causing this, it could be like you say; a DNS issue, which has been an issue for d-link for years now.

On a side note, because of this streaming issue, uploading also seems very poor and completely unstable, good one min, next the whole upload drops.  There's no stability what so ever on the upload.

We get back to the router being able to handle a consistent stream of data, and it still can't do that yet, again, I have no idea if this is all related to the DNS issues on the router, or just router configuration.  It does it factory default anyway, and I haven't found one setting that truely improves streaming, even turning everything off, and I mean everything, from gamerfuel to WISH, to firewalls and SPI's and wireless, nothing seems to help the streams.

I solved my dns issue by using opendns.  it works like a charm and resolves this bug.  Dlink should solve their problem but in the meantime this works great.  try it at www.opendns.com
