port forwarding broken?
« on: March 07, 2010, 11:20:43 AM »

I tried setting up port forwarding to get port 5121 incoming UDP messages to a specific computer.  (This worked fine on my old router, but it had other issues.)   I put it in the portforward screen and no luck, it simply did not work.  (And I'm not new to router admin, btw).   After seeing a variety of other posts about port forwarding troubles on the DIR-655, with most of them solved by using other solutions that did not involve port forwarding, I tried using the virtual server screen to force that port to forward to the right PC, and presto it worked.

So my conclusion is that port forwarding is broken to some extent on this router.  Is there any acknowledgment of this and any plan for fixing it?  the virtual server work around is ok for a single port but very awkward for a range of ports.
