Xbox as media player. No vol 2
« on: October 04, 2010, 08:21:43 AM »

Is there any reason why the xbox 360 (used as the media player) does not see volume 2 of the dns 323 (standard drive configuration)?

Volume 1 is the main drive containing all files which are visible and accessible through the xbox.

Recently volume 1 has started to reach capacity, so to free some space I have transferred the music and picture folders to volume 2. I am now concerned that volume 2 will be redundant if unable to access files using xbox.

Any ideas?

I believe it depends of the folder you selected to share as UPnP in the DNS-323 settings...
if its on Volume1, you will not see Volume2, and the other way around...

If this is the case can both volumes be set to share as UPnP?

If you check "ROOT" as the folder, instead of selecting a volume, might that work?

Thanks for the advice.

I clicked the 'Root' box and hit the refresh button. Nothing happened with the refresh bar getting stuck on 0% for 10 minutes.

I logged out then back in and clicked the refresh bar again. This time the percentage bar started to increase though reached 100% after an hour. Not sure if this is the normal time it should take. Anyhow, powered up the xbox and now both HDD are visible.

Cheers for the assistance.

The time it takes depends on how big the library is I believe. Glad it's working.
