Question about crash reset and best firmware

I received the DIR 855 a few days ago from expansy's UK,
I have discovered like many other that it randomly restarts every couple of hours, the current firmware on it is 1.12EU (hardware version A2), if I was to update to NA firmware would this fix the problem or make it worse, also if it made it worse would I be able to crash reset the router and reinstall 1.12 EU on it?
Additionally what is the best firmware revision to use?
