Hey guys-- I'm using the PNP-X 1.02 driver on Windows Vista x64 and Windows 7 x64. As long as I'm on my (W)LAN where the DNS-323 is present, I get the same issue on both OS:
Windows will no longer go to sleep, after about 4-5 minutes, my laptop will BSOD
Windows will no longer shutdown, after about 5-10 minutes it will BSOD
New application installs which use Windows Installer take several times longer to complete
When opening any device (via devmgmt.msc), clicking on the details pane locks the msc & must be force quit
When installing/uninstalling any hardware device, the process never completes
Microsoft Volume Shadow Service fails to operate properly, breaks System Restore and "Previous Verisons"
When looking at the error logs & reports windows sends to Microsoft, the BSOD errors all have the same fault "INVALID_POWER_STATE". Windows Error logs (on Windows Seven) have Event ID 41 / Critical / User: SYSTEM / Task Category 63 / Keywords 2 / "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."
Another Bugcheck (eventid 1001) "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000009f (0x0000000000000004, 0x0000000000000258, 0xfffffa8003c26b60, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 012209-21684-01."
When I turn off the WLAN (otherwise completely disconnected from my own network) I am able to remove the pnp-x driver and shutdown/suspend/resume amongst other things work properly again. This explains why I was able to take my laptop off premises to friends or Starbucks and everything seemed normal... until I got home.
Is anyone else experiencing this trouble?
