Hello.
I have recently got myself a DNS-323-2TB. It came with the 2TB of storage on-board and ready to go.
As per the instructions, I connected this to my router (thompson TG587n V2) via the ethernet cable in the box, used the d-link easy search software and mapped the drives (y&z). It all worked just fine and I was able to copy over a load of data successfully.
However, after rebooting the laptop, it seems that for some reason the drives will not map automatically, and I need to use the d-link easy search software every time to connect to the drives again. I've tried this a couple of times and the same thing keeps happenning. Until I run the easy search function and map them manually, they appear on the 'my computer' page, with a red cross next to each. I also get a system tray notice that there is a problem mapping the drives automatically when the laptop is switched on.
I am wondering if there is anything simple that I've missed or got wrong, or if anyone is able to advise on why the mapping isn't automatic?

Clearly, I'm not really a technical person, but had hoped that this would be as simple as it claims on the box. I'm using vista Home premium, if that helps anyone.
Any advice would would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Stuart
