Blocking World of Warcrat with a DIR-615
« on: April 08, 2010, 10:17:29 PM »

Hello;
I just bought a DIR-615 to use the access controls to block World of Warcraft.

Is it possible to have the DIR-615 block access to the ports for World of Warcraft for any or ALL computers on my network?

Will the schedule feature shut down an in progress connection when the schedule becomes active?

If not, is there a product available from DLINK that will do this?
Is there ANY Product that will do this?

I am tired of my 21 year old son using my wan for this game until the wee hours of the morning (3am).
He is keeping the other people in the house from getting a good night sleep when he shouts at the other players.

I want to block access to WoW from 11pm (my bedtime) to 8am (when I leave for work).
I don't care if he surfs to other places after I go to bed as long as he is quite. Something he cannot manage when playing this game.

Since he is an adult paying his game fees with his own money, I can't use the controls available from the game publisher. I do pay for the house broadband though and I will control that to insure the peace at night.

Problem Solved! :D
Returned the DLink DIR-615.

Purchased a NETGEAR Wireless-N 300 Router WNR2000v2

Setup and enabled service blocking.

Done deal...

Knew I should have forked over the extra 10 bucks from the start...but I had to try cheap first...oh well.
