Questions about DNS-321 and RAID
« on: April 14, 2010, 09:27:17 AM »

hey team, just plugged in my new DNS-321. Basically I want to have RADI 1 with two 1.5TB drives. The thing is that I just bought one 1.5TB, I am planning to buy the other one next month.

the question is, can I start using the DNS-321 and fill up this drive or do I have to wait to fill up until next month once I have the other 1.5TB drive at hand? am I going to format both drives to get RAID 1?

thanks for the help...

You should be able to add a drive and create the RAID array, but I'd be SURE to have full backups of your data.  Of course, you should have backups anyway, but the possibility of data loss is higher during this process.
