Well, I am pleasantly dumbfounded.

Here in Vancouver British Columbia the clocks went ahead one hour last week.  At which point my router went insane.  Constantly rebooting, only settling down after disconnecting it from the Internet and rolling back the firmware to version 1.32 NA.  However, then the daylight savings Time feature was out of sync by one hour, it lagged in the logs and on some places of the web interface and through the scheduling off for wireless shut down.

Here we are, a week later and by itself the router seems to have corrected this issue.  Everything is synchronized properly :D.

Anyone else have this pleasant surprise this morning?

Good to hear this. Hopefully this is an early indication of focused efforts to rectify all the issues plaguing this router since DST started.

I'm hopeful...or should I parse it politically and say ''cautiously optimistic?''

Yes,the router or continues to work perfectly.  It's like nothing ever went wrong.  The next interesting time will be on November 14 when our clocks here in Vancouver Canada go back one hour.

According to the logs there have been no updates from D-Link.  So what we have here Mr. Watson Is a Real Mystery!

Related to wishful thinking on the part of any upcoming firmware release, the choice of a time server should be left open so that one can put in their own choice--especially to fix temporary glitches such as what happened during ''spring forward.''

This same concept should also apply to the choice of dynamic DNS. While if one knows how to, for example, one can input the information for OpenDNS (via DNS-o-Matic), it isn't on the drop-down, and thus is not evident for those not in the know.

Both these features need attention desperately--among all the other things that need desperate attention...

Quite correct.  It needs to be made clear that the user is not limited to just the choices in the drop-down menus.  All that needs to be done really is an extra sentence like in the on-screen help.

In both the areas you mentioned, the NTP server and DDNS service, I entered providers that are not on the menus.  Namely:
TIME.NRC.CA and WWW.TZO.COM .  Both services work just fine.  The subscription to the DDNS service is on a five-year term.  Therefore there was a fair bit of research done before buying the router to make sure it would work.

But I have to tell you, I almost had a minor heart attack when first setting up the router and finding that TZO wasn't in the menu.

How did you do this? What settings can you use and what time server to make this get the right time? Every time I try to put in some other NTP server, the router reboots and saves nothing and once again the time and year is 2004.
