DNS-321: File is open in another program

Hey all,
just got this going today. I attempted to upload some video to it today and every file would stop at some point in the transfer and fail in some way (leaving some amount of hte file on the drive). I would then try and delete the file to find that "file is open in another program". That is also the message I get when I try to open a file in Windows Media Player.

Seagate 500gb drive
Win 7
Avis, mpeg-4, VOB, etc.
