Connect Windows NT to DIR 655?
« on: April 18, 2010, 09:39:40 PM »

I have an old point of sales system that uses Windows NT that I would like to connect to my wireless network so I can print to the wireless printer.  I have a Netgear MA311 wireless adapter in the machine and it can recognize the network but I can't seem to connect.

Tech support says the 655 doesn't support Windows NT but I'm not sure what it needs to support. The computer sees the network why shouldn't it be able to connect?

Is there something I can do to fix this or is it not a router issue?

Hi,

Is the MA311 wireless B or G ??

You should probably disable all wireless encryption for the short term to see if the card will  connect to the router....

I dont see how the router cares what version of windows is used on the client....but maybe I am ignorant of some technical aspect of wireless and client OS issues....

I would be concerned about the NT system and the driver software for the MA311 adapter....
