Samsung HD154UI compatibility
« on: January 04, 2010, 03:49:44 PM »

Hi,

Has anyone tried installing one of these into the 323?

I've just put one in and tried to format it as a single disk before buying another one and the formatting process doesn't seem to complete.

I'm running firmware rev 1.06 and I'm wondering if I need to try 1.07.

I don't have any other SATA drives to try as I got rid of all of mine a few years ago when I changed over to using a laptop instead.

Is there anything else I can check other trying the brand new drive on another PC or SATA drive enclosure?

Does anyone know if it's just a limitation in the current firmware?

Many thanks in advance.

aha, I should have done some research into the 1.08 firmware first.

It claims it should fix the 94% format failure problem.

I shall give it a try as soon as the last reformat fails.

Have you updated the firmware?  Did it work?
