Fast Forward - Windows Vista
« on: March 04, 2008, 07:48:57 AM »

I download movies from Vongo and play them with my Dlink DSM520 without any problems.  Actually works pretty well and Vongo lets you keep the movies for more then 24 hours unlike some of the other services.

I am sharing the Vongo folder on my Vista machine and letting WMP be the media server.

Everything seems to work well except being able to fast forward to a point in the movie to continue watching it a later time.

The resume function doesn't seem to work either.

Any ideas?

Use the number keys to navigate to locations in a video. You can jump from areas in a video or audio file using the keypad. Press 1= 10% 2= 20% ect.. this should make it easier to get to locations in a video. You can also use FF and RW from those location in the video or audio file.

Does this only seem to happen with your movies from Vongo or does this happen with all movie files played, FF and RW do not work?

Try playing with the TRANSCODE settings if they are available.  I had an issue with one of my movies not fast forwarding and rewinding and found that the media server wasn't translating it correctly.  i happend to find that mpeg-2 worked for me.
