Forcing LCD to stay on?

Is their any way to force the lcd to stay on? Whats the point of having it when it only stay on for a couple minutes.

D link commented on this a while back they said if they would allow such a feature it would cause the unit to burn out.

That makes sense since they apparently had to improve the heat sink for hardware A2.  It also makes me think this forum might be more efficient if it were searchable.

No there isn't a way to force it on. Beside how often do you need to use it? It's probably set up for just looking around and finding infomation. You get the same thing when your on the web page.

The issue is that the display is actually a OLED, Organic LED, which has a finite, and somewhat short lifespan. Until recently, even very high-end OLED Televisions have less than 30,000 hours, which would translate into less than three and a half years of constant use. That's of course based on a Mean Time Before Failures (MTBF) which tend to be overly optimistic.

I don't know the specifics of the OLED panel that they chose to use in the DGL-4500, but I'm pretty certain it's why they don't allow the display to stay on for long periods of time.
