[start opinion] I suggest using 5GHz. Many support agents are told that 2GHz and 5GHz are the same but they're mis-informed. This link is a good read: http://wifijedi.com/2009/06/08/2-4-ghz-vs-5-ghz/ It makes the statement (that I've heard elsewhere) "Because there are many more non-overlapping channels in the 5 GHz range, it can deliver greater total capacity."

The rest of the issue depends on the hardware's ability to handle the load. [end opinion]

5 ghz has less range and does not travel through walls as well as 2.4 , less overlap and not as crowded but unless you are close by and few walls between clients 5 ghz might not be best choice . to get 300mbps you need to enable 20/40 mhz , 20 will restrict you to around 150mbps

I'm getting a strong signal and excellent throughput from my 5Ghz router to a PC 60 feet away going thru 2 walls. YMMV (Your Millage May Vary)

The 1522 basically has no antena so in order to get a decent signal over any distance you will need a way to increase your signal.
