Error saving office 2007 documents.
« on: August 24, 2010, 09:10:39 PM »

I have this problem of saving only office 2007 documents on my dns 323.

1. I can create the file by right click -> new -> word document or excel or powerpoint.

2. When I make changes and click save or save as i get the following errors:
 a. For Excel -> Documents not saved
 b. For word -> There has been a network or file permission error. The network connection may be lost.
 c. For Powerpoint -> There was an error accessing N:\New Microsoft Office Powerpoint Presentation1n.pptx
(N: is the DNS-323 mapped drive.)

3. When I did the same on local drive, no problem in saving changes.

4. When I did the same on another mapped drive from a shared folder from a xp machine, no problem in saving changes.

5. Saving changes in wordpad and notepad in DNS-323 no problem.

Anyone have any idea?

No and neither will your data be. But is good practise to reset your configuration after a firmware upgrade and re-configure fresh to avoid old formats/versions of configuration data left behind.

It is also a good idea to have a backup of any data you don't want to lose for any reason :)

Did you do a factory reset after the firmware upgrade?

Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit here with Office 2007. I can save just fine to my 323 from any of the applications.

Can you copy a file to the same location you are trying to save your office files on your 323 using Windows Explorer? If so, did you get prompted for a password? If you can't copy or get prompted for a password that's most likely what is causing the issues with the Office apps.

Have you tried not using the mapped drive  but the URI? Eg \\dns323\your\folder ?
