DAP1522 to Airport Extreme Base Station Dual Band
« on: August 30, 2009, 04:36:19 PM »

I have gone through all the troubleshooting I can on this.  Once set up, I scan the site to see my network, the DAP1522 sees it.  I click connect, but it doesn't even though the password and settings are correct.  I am using WPA2 encryption.  Why  doesn't this work as advertised?

Could be that WPA2 implementation is different between Airport Extreme and DAP... Odder things have happened. Have you tried WPA and/or WEP as well? Did those work?

It has been noted that WPA2 between different vendors have compatibility issues...

HELP, Please,

I have a DAP1522 trying to be integrated as a "bridge" to connect different room devices (Blue-ray, PlayStation2) to my new wireless Macintosh computers (3).  Newer devices (PlayStation3) have wireless connectivity that work.

The computers are wirelessly connected to  T-W cable modem thru Macintosh Airport Extreme.

Even though I have Microsoft Office/Windows XP, I cannot add the DAP1522 to the system.  I can't seem to  follow the manual for installation.

The WAP1522 is connected with RJ45 (CAT5?) cable to the Airport extreme for setup. Can't seem to get anywhere, and "Bridge" orange light is blinking, even though the "WPS" button was pressed.

All "help" I have been able to find addresses the PC, even though the sales literature includes Macintosh compatibility.

Please provide detailed installation instructions for the Macintosh, if you have them.

I, too, am using the 1522 with an AEBS, but without any problems.    The AEBS is a MB053LL/A (A1143), which is two models ago and has one radio (either 2.4 or 5.x).  The AEBS is running 11n only at 5GHz and WPA2 Personal.

Note:  I couldn't connect the 1522 until I turned off hiding the AEBS SSID; i.e., broadcast the SSID. Once the 1522 was connected, I re-hid the AEBS SSID.  However, after a power outage, the 1522 couldn't find the AEBS, so I've left the AEBS SSID unhidden.

Here's is my 1522 settings (I didn't show my MAC or SSID):

Wireless Radio :      Enabled
Status :     connected
MAC Address :     ********
Network Name(SSID) :     ******
Channel :     149
Security Type :     WPA-Auto- Personal / Auto
Wi-Fi Protected Setup :    Disabled / Configured

Hope this helps.  Let me know if you need more info.
