Trying to connect DAP 1522 to TV and Sony Blu Ray no luck
« on: June 15, 2010, 11:35:41 AM »

Hi, I am desparate for help as I have called D-Link abougt 12 times always getting the same basic trouble shooting and ultimatly "it should work.. good bye"

Ok so here is the situation.

I purchased a new router last week DIR 655 it works fine. Yesturday I purchased the DAP-1522 to connect my TV (Pioneer Kuro) and my Blu Ray (Sony) to my network to access movies, music, and the internet (blu ray only)

I set up the DAP 1522 in bridge mode and hooked it up to the TV and Blu Ray player, intially the TV immediatly picked up the files on my laptop, I tried the Blu Ray Player and could not get a connection to the internet.

From here I updated my router (DIR 655) firmware to the newest 1.34NA I had to reset it so I had to put all the information back in.

I then had tried to connect the Blu Ray player again but I noticed that I lost the TV connectivity as well. I called and called and called D-Link tech support, they go through the same flow chart trouble shooting say its working and it must be a problem with my TV and Blu Ray Player. I need some help I will list the settings of my network starting with the DSL modem in hopes somone can provide some assitance.

verify the bridge is set to bridge mode and not auto, then verify that the bridge is connected to the router. since we have the same type - just click here: http://192.168.0.1/Status/Wireless.shtml

the bridge should show up with an ip address of 0.0.0.0. if not, then try setting up the bridge again.
this is how i did it: http://www.dlink.com/support/faq/?prod_id=2890

try plugging in your tv and blu-ray

wait a few moments then return to the router wireless status page, or refresh it.

you should see two new wireless connections. if not, then I'd consult the manuels to the tv and sony. those devices might need to be set up with static ip addresses...
