Xbox Live Crashes when Host
« on: June 17, 2010, 08:34:12 AM »

Hey guys. Whenever I am host in Xbox live everything is fine and then my router crashes, reboots, works fine after that. No problems if I am not host, works perfectly. Using wireless with gamefuel, dhcp reservation. Can someone help me?

What FW version is currently loaded on the 4500? What ISP service do you use? DSL, cable? Have you reviewed the Gaming and GameFuel sticky in this forum? How many other devices are connected to the 4500?

Hmm..I'm running the same FW and use cable for my internet. What Wireless mode and band are you using? Have you tried G mode only at 2.4Ghz?

I might do the following if you have time. Save off your current 4500 configuration to file. Then do a full factory reset and follow the GameFuel Sticky information and see if it clears this up. It shouldn't be rebooting or anything. Let us know if you need any help. You can send me your saved config file and I can take a look at it if you need on my system and see if I see anything out of the ordinary.

LMAO! I just realized that all my gamefuel settings were for my stock xbox. I bought a flashed xbox last week and forgot to change the IP on all the settings. But i did this and it has the same problem =(

I would make sure that you have set up a new IP address and set up new gamefuel rule for the device your using from scratch. Just to be sure. Are these xboxes online at the same time or one at a time? I have 2 xboxes on my system and made separate gamefuel entries for each box. No issues here.

I took a look at your config file and recommend the following:
1. Try changing your WiFi Mode to G only at 2.4Ghz.
Channel width will disappear so don't be worried.

2. Set your NAT Endpoint filtering to Endpoint Independent for both UDP and TCP in firewall settings. Remove the xbox from the DMZ.

3. Disable WISH and WiFi Protected setup if you don't need them.

4. Enable Multicast Streams under Advanced Network.

Everything else looks good.

Just a word of caution here, those configuration files can hold other data which could be sensitive. From router logs to PPPoE passwords. I know you mean well Furry but watch out, you don't want to find those furrynutz in a vice. ::grin:: I really do admire your creativity though, if I was helping a friend out I would probably do exactly what your suggesting. But random people off the internets? Just fair warning to all.

I appreaciate your info. Am aware of sensitive information. I'm not one for playing games. And I get most people to clear there logs and pw's before sending the file. Thanks for looking out for us though. Do appreciate it.

There is no harm at all from those config files -_-. Only harm I can see if is the user left a password on the firmware login. AS for the PPPoE passwords he can reset his logs. And if his ISP requires the routers to use that to connect them to them he can also remove them. I would just suggest him remove that mega upload file, so others don't attempt to download it them self, as for config files people should send the links via privet message. But I myself see no harm in sharing config files.

Also network keys, mac addresses, dns(and thus what city you live in), active internet sessions, etc. Yes, alot of it can be wiped, but I bet alot of people aren't. I am just saying people need to use caution. Not saying not to do it..just use caution. If you there can be no harm...I don't think you really know all the info contained inside of them what that info can be used for if obtained by the wrong people.
