FTP/Network Access Permissions
« on: May 29, 2010, 01:24:10 PM »

Are these two functions one in the same?

I understand that the FTP access allows external access to my NAS from those that I wish based on the permissions I have given them but how does this differ from network access?  Is network only local or via the My Computer window or network shares?

The FTP account permissions are handled separately from the SAMBA (SMB) shares.

Hello,

I have the same problem.

Both account (folder share and ftp) have write access on all the NAS. But with external access by ftp, some files cannot be downloaded (they have 700 as octal) for others files no problem (right=777).

What happened ?

(tested with Cyberduck, Transmit, and Filezilla)

thanks
