Bad start for DNS-321
« on: July 16, 2010, 10:15:42 PM »

Just got a DNS-321 and checked the Sharecenter for HDs to use. (1.5TB/Seagate Barracuda 7200/32MB/SATA/3G).

I see an IP address but I do not get the option to configure when I select the system.  Never used  NAS before and don't know what I've done wrong.  Can't get into the configuration software so can't check firmware etc.

Incidentally I'm running on a machine with Vista 64.

Any help is much appreicated.

First step, reset it to factory defaults using the reset button on the back.  Next, use the D-Link search utility to initially find it.  After that, I configure it with a static IP address, just like any other server in my network.
