Thanks so much guys for the help and information.  Truly one of the more helpful forums I've ever been to.

So far so good.  Under the new firmware, I've been connected for 2 days now.

Can someone give me the 5 cent of what the hell a mac address is?  Sorry, I know that's a rookie question, but I'm a rookie when it comes to networking.

Never feel like a rookie by asking a question, a dump question is an unasked question!

+1 for Furry's answer. I am just bored. Heh

Think of a Mac as a fingerprint for that device. I wonder if maybe with that firmware there was some bug with the DHCP that it was only used the cloned mac on boot and not on renewing the DHCP lease. It see, like a coinsidence that your uptime would be the max IP lease time. Either way..fixed now. Woot!

PS. Furry, spend some time on the Sony Forums. Even when paid, most mods have a serious ego issue. Then again, a person's personality is usually a product of their enviroment. Garbage in=garbage out.

Tricky...I hear ya...spend sometime over on NetGears forum, all I can say is wow. Our forum is so much quieter.  ;D Ya there a mod or 2 over there that need some adjusting, however NG Corp doesn't watch them like DLink does here.  ::)
