So, to put it simply, I am trying to forward my ports on two different Xbox 360 machines.
I have screenshots so be prepared.
Edit (8/24): Technical specifications are at the bottom of this post, and, yes, I did attempt to find my answer with this exact post on another forum... unfortunately, like this forum, people are reading, but
nobody is responding. Kind of frustrating.
Edit #2: Made large images thumbnails.
Here is what I am trying to do:
Here is the message I get:
So I keep only my Xbox Live settings alone in there for port forwarding and Save Settings.
I then am suspicious and check my ports:
This was weird. I thought these ports would be forwarded within the
router upon doing this.
So I tested a theory and tried the following with my
OWN computer:
I then Saved the Settings and then did this:
Okay. So, let me get this straight, the ports are "Closed" for my 360, and not my computer? I'm a newbie, I'm so confused. And, yes, before I made this account, I read the FAQs and everything very carefully. Please someone explain to me how to get two Xbox 360's on Xbox Live with ALL the ports opened for both systems. Thank you.
Specs and technical information:*Router: DIR-655 (A4)*Firmware: 1.34NA*Both Xbox 360 consoles are
WIRED (not wireless).
I have assigned them both static IPs (beyond the range of DHCP which is (by default) 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.199)
*My Xbox 360's static IP:
192.168.0.200*My brother's Xbox 360's static IP:
192.168.0.201*Previously, I attempted the above before without the above static IPs. My previous 360 DHCP IP was 192.168.196 and my brother's 360 was 192.168.199. Exact same thing happened--claimed there was a conflict. The Port Forward tool I used gave the exact same messages as pictured despite the systems being on DHCP IPs.
*Both Xbox 360's are capable of connecting to Xbox Live without any issues whatsoever (even when they were on DHCP IPs). I am merely curious as to why I cannot forward ports for both consoles on the same network. I have connection issues with certain people on Xbox Live.
*My computer's OS, not that it matters, is Windows 7.
