I can see it fine when it and my PC are connected to my old D-Link DI-624 router, but when I move both over to the Cisco Valet the PC can't see the DNS-323. 

Windows Vista Home Premium.
PC connection is wireline.

I would guess that you have a static address on the DNS-323 and a dynamic address on the PC, and the Cisco Valet issues an address that is in a different network range to the old D-Link

Yep, that's it. Old router assigned 192.168.0.xxx addresses, new one 192.168.1.xxx ones.

So is this the best way to fix it:
- Connect both to old router
- Login to NAS and switch to dynamic
- Connect both to new router
- Login to NAS and switch back to static

?

Okay, I tried the steps I proposed and now everyone is connected to the Valet but I can't find the NAS. I left it in DHCP mode and don't know what IP the Valet assigned it. I'm assuming it has to be in the range 192.168.1.xxx, but the D-Link Easy Search utility can't find it. My PC was assigned 192.168.1.118, so I  guessed the router was handing out addresses starting at 1.100 and pinged 100 and 101.

How can I find my NAS so I can log into it and move it back to Static IP mode, and well, actually use it?

Kept manually pinging addresses and found it at 121. Would have been nice if "easy" search would have worked, but oh well. Switched to static and remapped PC's drive successfully. Thanks for the initial tip fordem...been too long since I thought much about subnets.
