I would still suspect the 130 mpbs may just need some adjustement (I had to change the channel from 20 to 20/40 on the adapter, and that allowed 300 mpbs.
anyhow, I had an adapter DWA-130 (rev c.) and this one would not go higher than 150, but as soon as I plugged the rev A, I was up to 300. The signal strenght is anywhere between 3 bars and five bars. I may get some slight variations, but usually I go from 270 to 300 mpbs.
in order to get the 300mpbs, I followed the direction on the sticky note and it worked for me. I understand, that if the adapter is G, you will still be limited to a max of either 54 or 108 even if the router is N.
