My 323 will not turn on?
« on: September 14, 2010, 01:51:27 PM »

The other day, my I noticed my DNS-323 was off, and now it will not turn on. I've tried unplugging it, and letting it sit for a while, and the reset button. But I can't get it to turn on at all... No lights, no nothing.

My place has had the power go out lots, but I have a really nice surge protector on all my gear. The 10 other electronic pieces on the same power bar are fine. But thats all I can think of that got it... Any idea on how it can get rolling again or is it toast?

Ran good for well over a year now.

First off, I'd check the power supply brick and see if it's putting out the proper voltages.  If not, that may be what you need.  Otherwise, it's probably internal.

I have a volt meter, but I can't get any reading out of the end of the brick. I suppose that means its toast I guess. I'm not all that electrically inclined though.

If it is working it should have a green light on it (assuming allmodels have this). No technical knowledge or equipment required :)

Well, if the brick died, it's cheaper than the NAS dying. :)  You can get a replacement from D-Link.
