Wireless Performance bad
« on: September 27, 2010, 10:24:05 AM »

When I transfer files from a wireless device (PC, laptop or phone) to a wired device the performance is horrible.  The network utilization is only 6%.  This is with the wireless device being within 10 feet from the AP.  When I transfer from one wired device to another wired device the NetWork Utilization is >75%.   What settings can I look at to help wireless performance?

Thanks,
Steve

Network utilization? That is not specific enough. What is your transfer rate? Wireless is always going to be much slower then wired. Even Extreme N has a hypothetical capp of 300Mb(Usally closer to 54Mb) while wired can have up to 1000Mb (usally 100Mb). This isn't usually actual transfer rates, since that has alot to do with settings on your computer too.

For what it's worth, "Trikein" is right.
