connecting mac os x / samba
« on: September 28, 2010, 06:11:54 AM »

I can't figure this out. Firmware 1.08, 1 user with samba r/w access to /Volume_1/media. I'm connecting my macbook (10.6.4). Read access over samba works. But if I want to drag-and drop files to the share, mac Finder will prompt for a admin password. But the write job will not succeed, nothing happens.

Any mac user who recognizes this?

I do not recognize the problem but I have a suggestion.  Your post does not mention adding a Workgroup.
It can not hurt to specify group(workgroup) memberships.  If this does not fix it, try rebooting the NAS and then your Mac for grins and giggles. Reboots may be a waste of time but they ensure both systems are using the same set of values.

Peace

Try a factory reset, you won't lose your data, just your config settings.
