I have set up a D-Link DIR-600 with a Bigpond 2071-a modem. The DIR-600 is set up as a bridge, with the 2071-a connecting to the internet, and running through the DIR-600, with the intention of having a wireless network set up.

I've set up the laptop (with Windows 7) with a static IP address, both on the ethernet connection and the wireless connection (with different IP addresses). I can connect to the internet through the DIR-600 with ethernet cables, but when I unplug the cables and try to connect wirelessly, is where I get problems. Even after rebooting both the laptop and the DIR-600.

Basically Windows won't connect to the DIR-600 wirelessly. Yes there is an active wireless card in the laptop (which is "working normally"). I've set a WPA password in the router, and when Windows asks for it I type it in, and it then tries to connect but says it was unable to connect to the Dlink network.

Can anyone please help?? I am stumped and have no idea why this won't work.
