Hi, after trying to make dviewcam work in my environment I just registerer to say this :
- A piece of windows software in 2011 that requires local admin rights for no good reason is just lazy and sloppy work.
- A piece of windows software in 2011 that requires local admin rights for no good reason and can't work with UAC is crappy work.
- A piece of windosw software in 2011 that requires local admin rights for no good reason, can't work with UAC, disables UAC without giving you a choice during setup and is actively trying to prevent to use that software with UAC on is shameful work that should never have passed any form of QA.
- When that previous piece of software is part of a security solution like a video surveillance system, we're beyond shame and we're entering the realm of the unacceptable and the pathetic. What the hell was D-Link thinking ? If I'm mindful enough of my security to use security cameras, I'm not likely to take kindly to the fact that in order to use them I must throw away all security best practices on my computers...
So I guess the enhancement I'm requesting is this : for the love of God please have a decent support of the Windows security model, UAC and non-admin users included.
