DPR1260 and DIR655 connect but Printer fails
« on: November 17, 2010, 10:48:04 AM »

If anyone has this problem here is how I solved it.
  • If you are using the PSK WPA on the DIR655 the PSK on the DPR1260 must match. If not the 2 units will not connect.
  • Make sure that the DEVICE name in the ADMIN section of the DPR1260 matches the PORT name for each printer on the printers you are connected too on the DPR1260. Run a printer test page to see the PORT name, if possible or check on VISTA the Administratvie screen and select printers, then select PORT names. You should see the port names for each printer attached to the DPR1260. If should show (if they were installed correctly) dlinkps-......_9100 or 9101, 9102, 9103 for each printer installed. The periods in the PORT name are the last 6 characters of your MAC address for the DPR1260. DPR1260 when it installs the printers combines the name dlinkps-...... with the printer PORT number _910X. This should look like dlinkps-......_910X. This is how DPR1260 knows which printer to send the file too. If the names do not match exactly you will get a "print error" in the print queue of the printer you are sending the file too. Make sure you enable the default Printer protocols in the DPR1260. Example, RAW enabled.
