best media console for the price
« on: November 23, 2010, 01:17:35 PM »

Hi,

i have a d-link dns-323 and i'd like to get advices on a good media box for it. I already own a PS3 (connected to my tv upstairs) but i'd also like to have a box downstairs to play my videos and musics.

I need it to be wireless. Would be perfect if it could read my iTunes playlists and most of my videos.

Since i'm in Canada, i don't think i need Netflix, Hulu, etc.. (since we can't access them from here).

thank you

Off topic for this forum. Boxee, WDTV, Asus O'Play, HTPC, hundreds of options that you need to research. Has nothing to do with the backend providing the content.

3 x DNS-323 with 2 x 2TB WD Drives each for a total of 12 TB Storage and Backup. Running DLink Firmware v1.08 and Fonz Fun Plug (FFP) v0.5 for improved software support.

iXtreamer might be of interest. My personal experience with that lot though is they spend too much time saying how good they are and not enough time implementing bug fixes and listening to customers, if you can voice your opinion without being banned by the over sensitive moderators.

A friend of mine says AppleTV is fantastic.
