I have a DSC-1130 which I would love to register with mydlink.com and use for remote access.

But having run the install 3 times now the best I can do is access the camera locally on the network.

My router is a Belkin Play Max F7D4401 v1 (UK).

I successfully used WPS to setup the camera wirelessly and UPnP is enabled on the router with the frewall set to off
(blue LED turning solid green).

On the computer I was using for setup, I had turned the software firewall off also.

My Connection type is PPPoE and I inputted the ISP account username and password into the camera setup when requested.

Both the router and the camera have the latest firmware, and both are less than a year old.

I have tried restarting the router.

On the 11th of April I contacted dlink support via mydlink.com, got a case number and confirmation email.
And then never heard anything back... ever.

I did buy this camera specifically for remote access so this has been a pretty disappointing user experience thus far.
No remote access = no mydlink registration = no fun.

Here's the check list via the setup program when the camera can't connect to the internet:

Specifically what does it mean in this list by "public IP"?

It means your router is able to get an external IP address that connects it directly to the internet.

If you hook up your router directly to your modem and connect, you should be good.

If your modem has a built in gateway/nat, you may not be getting your router an external IP.

If you are using multiple routers, most likely you don't have an external IP.

Post your modem model and internet type if you aren't sure.

Hi there, thx for the initial clarification,

It's an 'all-in-one' Belkin Play Max F7D4401 v1 (UK) Modem Router using an ADSL PPPoE connection.

FYI - Theres also an Xbox connected so the Routers NAT is set to 'Open'.

No multiple routers, just the 'Play Max'.

Yup, didn't realize the router you mentioned was also the modem.  Good to go there.

Are you using the CD that came with the camera?  Unfortunately, you have to as it's the only way it will link the camera to the mydlink site.  Are you getting an error in the setup process when running the CD?

For more network tests, try running this and see if anything gives an error.

Hi, ran the Windows Internet Connectivity Evaluation Tool.

I noticed that it is primarily designed for Windows Vista where as I'm using a x64 Win7 machine at the moment.

Anyway, with the computers software firewall switched off, the test completed and passed everything exept the NAT part.

Here are the results for that bit:

I've ran both the installation from the original CD that came with the camera (v1.10)
and also the 'DCS-1130_2009.3.9.exe' which I downloaded from the mydlink.com site I believe.

The second install seems a little more involved and actually mentions not successfully setting up remote access, where as the installation CD doesn't mention this or give you options to set this up.
