Could you provide a little more detail about your setup? How is your NAS connected to your network, is your router configured for DHCP? Have you tried the Easy Search Utility? Does the NAS apper in Finder?

To access the web interface, you would put the NAS's IP or name in a browser.

yeah sorry about that.. I was (am) getting frustrated.. My NAS is connected to my WNDR-3700 with a CAT5. My iMac is connected through wireless. I connected the CAT 5 to my imac, thinking that might have been the problem but..no. Putting the IP or name in a browser window doesn't work..

I can't find a download for Easy Search Utility which would work for MAC.. the version on the CD doesnt install..

By default, the NAS looks to get an IP address dynamically from a DHCP server which in this case is probably your router. Assuming this is a new box, otherwise you might want to do a factory reset should it have been used on someone elses network.

If it doesn't show up anywhere, the only thing I can think of is to start pinging the first addresses in your DHCP pool. Those details would be in your router config. The router might even show the device.

Whatever happens, you need to be on the same subnet as the NAS.

You need to put its name or IP in a web browser. Does it not show its name? When you configured it on your PC, what do you mean? You must have had the IP?
